Tracey's story

I bought a Peugeot 307, 05 plate on 17th August 2014.

On the test drive I noticed the clutch was "tight". Rachel took it to a mechanic and it needed a new clutch and gearbox, which they said they had done (looks like it was a bodge job and no new parts used).

Within a few weeks the car developed an antipollution fault. It ended up in the main dealers after Rachel had it several times to fix (which we have reason to believe she stored it and it never actually went in anywhere).  I kicked off and they agreed to get it booked into the main dealer. The dealer said it needed new oil filter etc which they done on Rachel's say-so....then had to threaten her with a solicitor as she wouldn't pay the bill so Peugeot wouldn't release my car.

Found several leaks over time, a boot full of water, front passenger foot well had puddles every time it rained, driver side foot well was always damp.  Sluggish on start up which could've been due to a dodgy job on the clutch and gearbox but she wouldn't take any of my calls, then said it was out of warranty. When I checked, it wasn't even registered for the warranty.

Final straw was the ABS being knackered so car went off the road.

Other "minor" faults were seats would not fold down, missing bolts on the wheel arch, front trim fell off (they had tried to superglue it so it looked ok in the garage), a fault somewhere which resulted in light bulbs blowing every couple of weeks.

We also think they "pay" to get an MOT pass as someone I know said it should never have passed although hard to prove.
